WOD with Warriors is a workout specifically designed to honor our nation’s warriors and build communities around our veterans.
We’ll be doing the workout at Ultimate Athletics at The Shops at Ithaca Mall on Wednesday 5 November from 10 AM – 4 PM. We will have a group at the gym at noon, please join us then if you can.
All proceeds directly support Team Red, White & Blue, whose mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans.
Please help us get the word out by printing out and posting a copy of the WOD_poster at your office or around town.

Save the Date! For the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans…each year the School of Hotel Administration, as part of a national consortium of colleges, hosts a group of disabled veterans for a weeklong entrepreneurship bootcamp. The veterans all have concepts ready to be developed and the EBV program is designed to kick-start their projects.
The VCNG is supporting EBV in two ways:
- Co-hosting (with ROTC) a Thursday night (October 2, 2014) mixer with the the EBV group, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on the Arts Quad for Dinosaur BBQ
- Two workout sessions, Tuesday September 30 and Thursday October 2, both at 7:30 AM, the group meets at Schoellkopf Stadium
Next week the Cornell Veterans Colleague Network Group and Team Red, White and Blue Ithaca will hold the first 5K running tour of Cornell’s Veterans Memorials on Friday December 6th at Noon. We will meet on the East side of Barton Hall between Barton and Teagle. The run is exactly 5K (3.1 Miles) and we’ll go at a moderate pace, keeping the group together and stopping for a brief talk at each memorial.
There is a printable route map @ http://veteransmemorials.cornell.edu/files/2013/11/Cornell-Veterans-Memorials-Tour-2ll0y6m.pdf or you can see the route online @ http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/fullscreen/324428253/
If the weather gets too bad (it will have to be pretty nasty to cancel!) we’ll update the Team RWB Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/TeamRWBIthaca/ as well as this event page.
The Cornell Veteran’s Colleague Network Group has received a charter to become an affiliate of Team Red, White and Blue! Team RWB’s mission is “To enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.”
Our first event is going to be a 5K Running Tour of Cornell Plantations, full details about the tour are here: http://www.cornellplantations.org/event/plantations-5k-running-tour but we did want to highlight that “the pace will be a moderate jog, with several stops along the way to interpret the plants and landscapes, or just admire the view“, so you don’t need to be a hardcore marathoner to take part. We will meet at noon at the Kienzle Overlook, which is adjacent to Tower Road and across from the newly re-opened Dairy Bar.
Please feel free to forward this announcement and invite anyone who might be interested in joining us. We’d like to encourage you, if possible, to wear a red, white or blue shirt so we can make a big impression at our first event.
If you have any questions please get in touch with Jase Baese at firstname.lastname@example.org or 255-7881
